Being busy!

Hi there! So, I may have run out of time to do a blog post last week, so will do 2 this week, you lucky ducks!

Since my last post, I have been to the theatre twice and twice to the same comedy club, which is most certainly the best one in town!

So, first, the theatre...
I was quite sad to discover that now of my favourite west end shows, From Here To Eternity, was shutting. I had been to see it when it was in its preview season, and was incredibly happy to manage to get tickets to the Thursday-before-it-closed performance. I guess in a way I was quite lucky that it did not get the audience response it most certainly deserved. First time, we got upgraded from restricted view to stalls, and this time we managed to find a deal that got us tickets worth £67.50 for £24.50! I seem to have a bit of a knack for getting these mad, brilliant deals... Don't know how!
Yes, it was amazing. Yes, I was singing the songs constantly after seeing the show. And yes, I DEFINITELY need the soundtrack ASAP. I really don't know why people didn't go-set in Hawaii around Pearl Harbour, this show had a load of brilliant aspects to it. Plus, it had Ryan Sampson, who played Grumio in Plebs as Maggio, who is awesome and a role fulfilled by THE Frank Sinatra in the film.

The next load of theatre was a little unexpected and most certainly one of the best evenings out I've had this year (along with a load of other stuff...). It all started as my mum text me 'RING ME ASAP' (because that's not dramatic...). Turns out, it was not the family emergency that I had feared, but was instead the news that someone at her work had two spare tickets going to the press night performance of 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' starring a load of awesome people including Rufus Hound and Robert Lindsay, and asking if I wanted to go. Really, that was a stupid question. The chance to see a musical, not do any homework and not desperately channel surf in the hope there will be something half descent somewhere but inevitably end up watching Cartoon Network? YES PLEASE! And, just like with From Here To Eternity, the songs are still stuck in my head and I loved it!
I most certainly will go again. I have to, and not just because I couldn't go to the stage door this time (although that is a contributing factor). It's hilarious and great, and I hope it lasts. I don't think I could take it if for the third time in two years a musical I loved so much and couldn't stop going on about shut early (slight exaggeration...I'm pretty sure I'd live, I'd just be a tad disappointed.)

I guess I'll write about the other stuff tomorrow. A lot has happened in the last fortnight (not really a change...).
'Til then!
