A pretty dull half term

Hello reader!

Half term's over and it's back to college for me. Luckily the first day back wasn't too painful thanks to one out of two lessons being cancelled! Anyway, I should probably write about my week off!

I had planned quite a lot for my week off, including doing my pass plus. Unfortunately, people's plans changed and my driving instructor got the flu so most plans fell through. However, there was one plan that didn't... and if I'm honest, it was the one plan I would have put money on it not happening.

It is a well-known fact that I am a huge wimp, especially when it comes to pain. So the plans I had made to get my tragus pierced (the flappy bit in front of the hole bit of your ear) were met by laughs and a chorus of 'sure you are' from quite a lot of people. Even my own mum thought it was incredibly unlikely I would actually go through with it. If I'm honest, I did way too much googling, and hyped myself up an incredible amount. I got my friend to come with me, bought some numbing cream (didn't have much of an effect if I'm honest) and spent the morning at work to take my mind off it. It would be a lie if I said I didn't try to at least delay the procedure of putting a thick needle through my ear, but by three o'clock, there was a bar of metal firmly placed in my ear!
I would by lying if I said it didn't hurt-it definitely did and I could feel it constantly for around two days afterwards. Even now, the back of the bar tickles the back of my ear and it often gets in the way-I've had to train myself to sleep on my right side, I can't wear earphones and I have to use my right ear for my phone. Was it worth it? 100%!

Normally, I'd have at least one other thing to talk about, but unfortunately I don't. So, 'til next time!

It's not half term yet, but...

Hello reader!

So it's pretty safe to say this week has been nothing short of manic. Last week of school before one week off, it was bound to be. However, I'm not just referring to the ever-growing mountain of work I have to do! Although Monday through to Wednesday were pretty dull, the rest of the week was absolutely brilliant.

Thursday evening doesn't really strike anyone as the perfect day for a theatre trip, but that is exactly what I got up to this week. Acting as a responsible adult, I acted as a helper on a scouts trip to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. If I'm honest, I'm a little surprised that they trusted me, a person who literally acts their shoe size 87% of the time. Anyway, the play was nothing short of awe-inspiring. So maybe the songs and script ext were not as good as other musicals I have seen, but it's based on something by ROALD DAHL and had a flying glass elevator. So yes, I REALLY enjoyed it! Plus, the children that were on the trip were not bad at all and we didn't lose any of them!

Friday was Valentines Day, and as a valentine-less girl, I made the decision to spend the evening with other valentine-less girls and eat pizza in a place where no one would dare take their valentine-Pizza Hut. 8 of us trekked to the restaurant and feasted on the £6 meal deal (we didn't have any dessert). If I'm honest, I really enjoyed the evening, and when I got home I managed to catch 'Bridget Jones' Diary'! So, in the end I had four valentines dates-Daniel Cleaver, Mark Darcy, Ben and Jerry. So, guess what... I WIN!

Saturday was work day, but luckily managed to find out that one of my very favourite comedians was over from America and catch him compering at Charing Cross in a lil pub on a side street. I'll be honest, I thought the place was cool until I noticed 'Splash!' on the TV, but oh well! Anyway, after he finished I told him about an essay I had written about whether British comedy can succeed in America, and guess what... not only has he followed me on twitter, he's READING MY ESSAY AND GIVING ME FEEDBACK!!! Bearing in mind my teacher dislikes my topic choice and the fact its not based on anything academic, this is seriously awesome. Finally, this stupid EPQ seems like it has a point!

Finally, is Sunday. Not one to rest, I went to the zoo! Believe it or not, thats not really anything special for me-I have an annual pass to the attractions that the company owns. Here is a picture of some penguins.
And here is a tiger. My friend, in response to this pic said 'LOOOL the tiger is like bitch please I'm fabulous', which I found quite funny.

So, that was my week. No more or less exciting than anyone else's, really! 'Til next week I guess!

The week of cake and ice cream

Hello reader!

I wish I could say things were slowing down, but I can only seem to find the accelerator 9no, I haven't had another car accident!).

Dad's birthday this weekend meant that this weekend was... well... hectic. 2 cakes, 2 restaurants and one trip to Wiltshire later, its all over and my Dad is now officially 55. I would like to stress that that does NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES mean that he has become all mature and dad-like. In fact, my dad asked for one gift for his birthday and that was, of course, Turbo (the kids' film about the racing snail).

What else has happened, I hear you ask (insert audio clip of a faint echo of 'what else has happened'). Well, not much apart from work, work, work! A 5000 word essay that has to be in for goodness-knows-when-but-its-this-week, another essay for psychology, useless maths work and some weird English project, all before this week's over! Fun timez with a 'z'. Oh yes, I went there.

I am pretty sure I'm 75% cake. I'm starting to worry, if I'm honest-I'm really not meant to be eating that much cake. You see the picture? Half of that cake was consumed by yours truly. And that, I'm positive, is not something that health experts and officials recommend that an 18-year-old student does. Don't forget that I had a whoopee pie, 1/4 of a chocolate cake, a cupcake and countless magnums on top of that. Thank goodness I don't really drink, or I'm pretty sure I'd be... um... not very well? Not in good shape? Y'know what, just think of your own consequence for that scenario. Or don't. Whatever you feel like, really... not trying to force you in to anything (*TANGENT ALERT*).

Well, wish me luck on my mountain of work! 'Til next time, over and out!

Pedro's injury and other events

Hi reader!

As much as I'd like to say that this week has been absolutely action packed, non-stop fantastic... well, I can't. Sadly. Not that nothing has happened, just that there was nothing too amazing or wonderful that has happened (or at least that really springs to mind).

The main event of this past week was not planned at all, and wasn't something that I particularly wanted to happen. It is unfortunate that I should have to announce that, on Wednesday, Pedro was reversed in to. This is probably when I should mention that Pedro is my 13-year-old Ford Fiesta (yes, my car has a name. What of it?) and that it was very minor damage that was all fixed within 24 hours thanks to my all-things-car-related-knowing dad. If I'm completey honest, I'm incredibly happy that my first ever car accident was not my fault, however there is something quite worrying about how, when I rang my dad and told him 'there's been an incident' the first thing he said was 'what have you hit?'.

Of course, this week has had it's good moments. But I think I'll just mention my top 3.

1) Mr Peabody and Sherman
As I am, pretty much, a big kid, I am well aware of the majority of cartoons that come out in the cinema (and on TV, truth be told). It is also true to say that 95% of the time I am desperate to see them. This particular film sponsored the Regent Street Christmas lights in 2013, which were turned on by the director and one of the voice actors (check out the pic!), and were a-ma-zing!!! Anyway, I've been sidetracked. The film, about a genius dog and his adopted son, comes out on Friday but previewed this weekend, and, as you may have guessed, I went! And, my goodness it's good. An hour and a half sped by, thanks to historical puns and a pretty good story. Sure, there are better films I have seen in the last few months, such as 'Frozen', but I still absolutely loved it. Well done Dreamworks!

2) The Most Brilliant Mug EVER
Payday Friday of course lead to treat-yourself Saturday. And treat myself I did! Despite an on-going mug ban, I bought myself one in the shape of Hamm from Toy Story. Which is quite epic. I've agreed to take some of my mugs and leave them at my Grandparents' house in Poland, which I will be quite sad to do, as all of my mugs are pretty cool, if I do say so myself.

3) Penguins
I bought 27 Penguin bars at once. Earlier on in the week, I bought 9. Bringing my total Penguin purchases for the week to 36. Enough said. (I should probably mention that all of that only equates to 4 packs so its cool. And its not as if they're all for me... my dad had 2 (he's not allowed any more))

Well, thats it. 'til next time!
